The only word that doesn't fit the bill here is "squib," which refers to "a short humorous or witty writing or speech." Like "gewgaw," the other words all refer to something of little worth or value. "Trifle" is used especially to talk about a small amount of money. "Bauble" often refers to an inexpensive piece of jewelry, while "gaud" usually refers to a showy or flashy piece of jewelry or clothing. Some less common synonyms for "gewgaw" include such fun words as "bibelot," "tchotchke," "kickshaw," and "gimcrack."
